Bible Verse Abstract Painting

This painting is based on the bible verse Galatians 3:13 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree” In this painting the white light is to represent God in His holy and perfect being. He had sent his son Jesus to help us rid our sins that the Law has condemned us with. The brown purple and black colors displayed are to represent creation being dirty and sinful. God isn’t depicted as nonexistent instead in my painting he is actively involved with the creation and He is willing to give up His own Son just to save us. I created this artwork by looking at all the different artist styles of painting and taking inspiration from them. I used a multitude of different styles to make my own unique style. I don’t think I would do one thing differently because I felt very confident in my work for anyone to be able to construct their own meanings and ideas based on this painting. I intended to display to the viewer what God has done for our sinful creation and how His light overpowers any darkness. I think the bright light was a great addition for someone to understand this. My goal for future artwork is to look at many different historical artists and their styles to make my own unique pattern.
